IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Gordon
Izworski
April 26, 1945 – March 21, 2019
Edward Gordon Izworski departed for his final fishing spot on 21 March 2019 surrounded by his wife, Mary; son, Jon; daughter-in-law Julie and his loving granddaughter, Kaitlyn.
Eddie, as called by friends and family entered life on 26 April 1945 in Michigan. Eddie's adoring sister, Helen and husband John Tater guided him through his childhood until leaving their California home for the United States Army.
His Army service as a cable splicer took him through Texas, Germany and included combat service in Vietnam. Ed's first son, Richard was born in Germany with them connecting later in life where he was introduced to his grandsons, "little" Rich and Quade Varner. Richard's family has grown to include his wife, Karrie and two daughters, Macy and Rylie.
Eddie later returned to California where he traded his combat fatigues for civvies as he started a long career with General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) as a metrology technician. His profession placed him on a mobile truck servicing electronics for companies all over California with his partners in crime, Arnie Law, Dave Johnson and Mike Yoder. Ed cherished his time on the truck and often boasted on how they always worked the system to their favor.
Ed's passions revolved around fishing, having a good time wherever he went, and many trips each year to Black Meadow's Landing at Lake Havasu. Although many of his fishing tales remain unfounded, he never turned down an opportunity to go after the Stripers. He owned many boats over his life with his pride and joy being Poland's Pride … a hopped up jet boat with too much power for any real good.
Ed fulfilled the role of that "family" uncle by always being the life of the party and always pushing the limits. It's said that he lived the life of a Rockstar without the supporting rockband throughout his early twenties, thirties, forties, fifties …
Later on, Eddie met Mary to finally settle down and establish a home in Fontana, California. Eddie became a step-father to Mary's daughters, Beth and Becky and later a grandfather to Beth's daughter, Tabetha. Around this time Eddie sent his second son, Jon to the United States Air Force where Jon's wife, Julie became Ed's daughter-in-law.
Retirement age came fast for Eddie and Mary so they decided to pack up on move on to Texas to be closer to the grandkids. Ed and Mary joyfully drove from Texas to Louisiana in 2007 to be there for the birth of Kaitlyn and spent many years being able to stop by for visits. As the years flashed by, Ed and Mary decided to head to Florida to remain closer to the grandkids and be closer to the water. Although Eddie only briefly lived in Florida, his spirit and soul will forever remain there and be close to those he loved.
Eddie truly cared for his amazing family who loved him for the very person he is. His sister, Helen Tater and Rosie White forever took care of him. Their husbands, John Tater and Burdette White played a pivotal role in his upbringing and life teachings. Their kids, and grandkids – Patty (Mikey), Gary (Joann), Kenny (Lisa), Bobby, Bradley Walski and big brother, Brian Walski, Joshua White and sister Melanie White. Many other players in his life meant so much to him – Joanne, Denny, Bob, Auntie Virgie and her team, so many more.
