E.K. "Skip" Edwards, 85, native of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016.

He was born December 5, 1930 in Pensacola, FL to O.E. "Tex" and Vada Edwards. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Skip took over Tex Edwards Crane Company in 1958 as President and bought Southern Prestressed Concrete in 1994. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #15, the Hadji Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge # 497, and McGuires Irish Politicians.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Jason Gibbs; and Helen Edwards.

Survivors include his children, Carolyn Phillips (Don), Susan Gibbs and John Edwards (Angie); grandchildren, Keith Phillips (Renee), Heather Walsh (Mark), Ryan Gibbs, John Gibbs, Susan Davis (Bebo), Cheryl Powers (Buddy) and Adam Edwards; also his great-grandchildren, Adele Phillips, Sean Walsh, Carter Walsh, Blake Walsh, Natalie Davis, Connor Powers, Gracie, Maggie and Shelby Powers.

Visitation will be held 10:00am until the Funeral Service to begin at 12:00noon Friday, October 7, 2016 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church with Pastor Gordon Godfrey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Active Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Ricky Herndon, Steven Barry, Frank Patti, Jr., Pete Fragale and Drew Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Bizzell, Martin Sharron, Jim Reeves, Fletcher Fleming, Frank Patti, Sr., Tim Parker, Bobby Richie, Bill Lee, James Carter and James Bradley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hadji Shrine.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Katherine Cerbone, Tammy Spain and Lori Higgons. Very special thanks to his great friends, Martin Sharron and Tom Bizzell.
