Edward "Ed" William Peabody III, 79, of Chester Springs, PA and Pensacola, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Born to Roseanna "Weaver" Peabody and Edward W. Peabody Jr. in Elizabeth, NJ. Ed spent most of his life living and working in the Philadelphia area. He had long and successful careers in both journalism and public relations.

Ed was a lifelong musician with a particular focus on guitar, sometimes dabbling in other instruments as well. He was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of music, particularly blues, early rock, and jazz. Ed had a song lyric quote at the ready for every occasion. He read prolifically, enjoyed sharing his writing with others, and always marched to the beat of his own drum.

Ed will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA, beside his parents. He is survived by his children, Sue Peabody, Brian Peabody, and Emma Peabody.
