"Stew" Pfalzer
December 22, 1958 – March 9, 2022
Edwin Stewart (Stew) Pfalzer, 63, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Stew is preceded in death by his mother Barbara (Stewart) Pfalzer and his father Edwin Eugene Pfalzer. He is survived by his stepmother Irene Delores Pfalzer (Pensacola); his sister Anne (Pfalzer) Davidson (Pensacola); a nephew Ryan Davidson (Courtney) San Diego; two nieces April Higdon (Jeremy) Pensacola; Caroline Davidson (Pensacola); a great nephew Irving Higdon (Pensacola); and a great niece Remy Geiser (Colorado Springs). Stew is survived by a host of beloved cousins and friends both local and out of state who will miss him dearly. Stew is also survived by two beloved cats named Shiloh and Maxwell whom he dearly loved.
Stew was born in Pensacola, FL but headed to the West Coast around the age of 20 to pursue a career in writing and producing music in which he was very talented. He was an avid music fan and he learned a plethora of knowledge about genres, lyrics, and artists during his lifetime. After a few years, he returned home and earned an associate degree from what used to be Pensacola Junior College and later in life he earned a bachelor's degree from Belmont University and a master's degree from Tennessee State University. Stew's career in strategic management would eventually take him to several different locations in the North and Midwest. Most recently, he was residing in Iowa working for a large petfood manufacturer as the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor with 14 direct reports who will miss him dearly. He was always willing to work extra hours and pick up shifts for others to make sure that the work got done. Stew had a very strong work ethic and being there for his team was very important to him.
Stew also had a talent for writing, and he published a book in 2016 titled Cosmic Joker. Being an animal rights enthusiast he had half of the proceeds from the book go to animal welfare charities. Stew has written another book and at the time of his death he was in the process of having it published.
Stew was born and raised in the Catholic faith and had a love for and expansive knowledge of scripture in the Word of God. He used his talent and love of quoting scripture to share with others the Truth that is Jesus Christ.
Stew was very charismatic with a strong personality. He had a big smile and a friendly voice and was very generous in remembering family and friends on their birthdays and holidays. Stew was a beloved son, uncle, cousin, and friend to all those who loved him, but most of all he was a loving brother to his only sibling, his sister Anne. Stew will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in ICU at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD who so diligently cared for Stew in his time of need.
