IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen "Mac"
Baker
December 25, 1935 – July 17, 2016
Eileen "Mac" Baker, long-time resident of Pensacola, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital from complications related to surgery.
Born in 1935 in London, England, Eileen's early years were spent in wartime East London, an experience she often recounted with humor later in life to her children.
In 1956 she married U.S. Navy petty officer William "Bill" T. Baker in London and in 1957 the couple embarked on the first of many military moves over 30 years that took the family to Puerto Rico, Japan, Italy, England and naval installations in the U.S. Eileen traveled extensively, visiting dozens of countries including Taiwan, Israel, Spain and many U. S. states including Hawaii and Alaska. Military retirement in the early 1980s brought the couple to Pensacola, where Eileen earned her Real Estate license, taking great interest in the city's growth for 35 years.
Eileen leaves behind Bill, her beloved husband of 59 years; her daughter, Valerie Fazel who resides in Arizona; and devoted sons, William "Bill" T. Baker, Jr. and David Baker, both Pensacola residents. Those who will also miss her include daughter-in-law, Karen Baker and son-in-law, Abbas Fazel; her granddaughters, Nadia and Natasha Fazel, Heather, Kimberley and Sarah Baker; and her grandsons, Aaron Fazel and William "Bill" T. Baker, III. She will be remembered fondly by relatives and friends in the U.S., Canada and England, especially by Trish and Rick Miller.
Eileen is predeceased by her sister, Monica, many aunts and uncles, including most recently her dear aunt, Cathy Crawford and her parents, Frank and Margaret McMahon.
Services for Eileen will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Airport Blvd. Visitation begins at 9:30am followed by a prayer service at 10:30am. Burial at 11:45am is scheduled at Barrancas National Cemetery.
