Eileen Thompson Sheppard, 85, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013. Eileen was born on September 30, 1927 in New Orleans, LA. She worked for several Federal government agencies as a secretary and administrative assistant. Eileen enjoyed reading, singing, ballroom dancing, playing the organ and attending the symphony. She was a member of the Newcomer's Club of Pensacola, Garden Club, the Serra Club, Marriage Encounter and Over 55 Dance club where she was Queen from 2009-2010. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Thompson, III; her father, Luke T. Corcoran, Sr. and her mother, Olive Warner Corcoran. She is survived by her husband, Alan C. Sheppard; a daughter, Kateri T. Gamberger (Wladislaw); a son, John T. Thompson (Jill); granddaughter, Juliet G. Washburn (John) and great-grandchildren, Abby Washburn, Claiborne Washburn, Jackson Washburn and Nathaniel Washburn. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with a prayer service at 5pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, July 5, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McQuone celebrant. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wladislaw Gamberger, John Thompson, John Washburn, V. Paul Bruno, Jr., Alan McMillan, Bobby Holmes, Juliet Washburn and Kateri Gamberger. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Marriage Encounter group. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, 1700 Conway Dr., Pensacola, FL 32503. The family wishes to give special Thanks to Dr. Amos Prevatt, Dr. Dany El-Sayah and the Covenant Hospice staff, Fr. Doug Halsema, Rev. Michael Nixon, Judith Donaldson and Ginger Ann Poffenberger.
