Eleanor Herndon Wilson, 63, of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, December 5, 2016. She was born on June 30, 1953 in Ozark, AL.

Eleanor received a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and sociology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and taught in the Huntsville City School System, private schools and homeschooled her children. She served as church pianist at Highlands Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL for several years and was very involved in children's ministry throughout her life.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Homan Herndon and Jean Cantrell Herndon.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Dennis Wilson of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Melissa Wilson Kimball and husband, Nathan, of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Matthew Wilson of Athens, AL; three grandchildren, Micah, Ethan and Elianna Kimball; two sisters, Dr. Jennifer Vinson and husband, Ranny, of Harvest, AL and Catherine Davis and husband, Louie, of Gardendale, AL; three nephews and three nieces.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Olive Baptist Church, 1836 E. Olive Rd., Pensacola, FL 32514, with Funeral services beginning at 11:00am.

Burial will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235.
