Elfriede Brummer Borish was born on February 9, 1926, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was 96 and 361 days! She was born in Weinzierl, Germany to the late Juliana Erlinger Brummer and Ludwig Brummer, of Germany. She was of the Catholic faith, and we celebrate that she is now in heaven with her savior Jesus Christ.

Her early years were during wartime in Griesbach, Germany. Her family treasured hearing her tell the many childhood stories of her life during that time. She met her sweetheart Michael Borish, of Swoyersville, PA in Berlin, Germany, while he was serving in the U.S. Army initially then the U.S. Air Force. They fell in love and were married on September 15, 1951 moving to Texas for a while. They went back to Germany for a stretch before eventually returning and settling in Mary Esther, FL in 1962. She became a U.S. citizen in 1952 and was proud to be an American. She was active in The Non-Commissioned Officers Wives Club 1962-1995 and served in various positions including president. She loved to play BINGO and various card games her entire life. She was an avid reader (of German books) and always had a book in her hands. Her favorite shows were action/westerns, and game shows. She had a "do not complain" attitude and was an inclusive person welcoming all into her circle.

She loved to travel and has been all over the world. Her last trip at 96 years young was to Brazil to see the Christ the Redeemer Statue. She was adored by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Borish, two brothers, Ludwig Brummer and Erich Brummer, her son, Michael Bartholomew Borish, and two grandsons, Richard Christopher Clark and Brandon Joseph Borish.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, daughter, Patricia Maria Borish (Brent Hegg), of Colorado Springs, CO, her son, Paul Victor Borish (Ellen Allman Borish), of Ft Worth, TX, and daughter, Ilona Julia Borish, of Pensacola Beach, FL; her eleven grandchildren, Michael Christopher Borish (Emily Youse Borish), Stephanie Bolster Adams (Jason Adams), Lauren Michael Bolster, Tiffany Hegg Richens (Asa Richens), Nicole Hegg Yost (Dominick Yost), Bryan Paul Borish (Brooke Jensen Borish), Karin Borish Mosley (Jordan Mosley), Jason Michael Borish (Keli Voorhies Borish), Robin Christine Borish, Nathan Allen Borish (Joy Grayczyk Borish), Alison Borish Hale (William Hale); her nineteen great grandchildren, Haleigh Foster, Cayetana Bolster, Aiden Richens, Mitchell Richens, Christian Borish, Mekenzie Keifer, Kaleb Keifer, Chanley Borish, Deja Borish, Brandon Borish, Olivia Borish, Addiesyn Mosley, Rhaegan Mosley, Emmersen Mosley, Laken Mosley, Brookelin Borish, Londin Borish, Ari Borish, Kai Borish; and her one great-great grandson, Sebastian Ridgill.

Visitation will be held 10:00am until a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00am Monday, February 27, 2023, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Pensacola Beach, FL, with Msgr. Luke Hunt, celebrant. A committal service will directly follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Lunch for family and friends will be at 2:00pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in the Fellowship Hall.
