Beth R. Chavis went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2010. She was born on Nov 1, 1929 to Louis P. & Farer P. Reno in Georgetown, Miss. Beth was a humble woman of faith who held herself to very high standards in every endeavor of her well lived life. She was never outspoken yet her impact on people was apparent in the love they returned to her. She showered her granddaughter (Emma) and son (Bill) with unending praise and love everyday of their lives. She most loved her Sunday school class at Cokesbury, her Bible study group, and her tight knit group of friends that were always there for her. In her last months the outpouring of support and graciousness allowed her to see the depth of those relationships. She worked for thirty one years at the City of Pensacola and still enjoyed many of those relationships. She was someone that could always be depended on to get things done and done right. She is survived by her son, Bill Chavis; her grandchild, Emma; nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church Summit Park Campus with Rev. Clint McBroom officiating. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Covenant Hospice The angels in her midst . The family requests that donations be sent to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 3300 Summit Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504, Beth's home church, in lieu of flowers. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
