Ellen Jean Vickery, 72, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Ellen was born on November 14, 1951, in Jacksonville, FL to Robert Duff & Doris Cutler Wrighton. Her father was in the Navy and after her birth they lived in Canada until they moved to Pensacola, FL in 1963 where she has remained. She attended Escambia High School and began working at the Escambia County Health Department when she was 18 years old. She continued her career for the State of Florida and Escambia County for the next 35 years. She retired at age 53 as a Deputy Court Administrator. She has cared for many since her retirement, beginning with her mother and other terminal family and friends. She was a giver of her care and time. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was simply the best! Ellen loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending the many sporting events they participated in. You could always count on hearing her shout… "Good one, good one".

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Duff Wrighton & Doris Cutler Wrighton.

Ellen leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Larry Vickery; her daughter, Janice Marie Ricketson (David); stepson, Doug Vickery (Dawn); two grandchildren, Griffin Davis Ricketson (Abby) and Nolan Scott Ricketson (Lucy); her two brothers, Mark Wrighton (Risa) and Glenn Wrighton (Mary); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 10:00am until a Celebration of Life begins at 11:00am Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family wants to give special thanks to the ICU nursing staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and to Pamela Fulmer for her love and care of Ellen.
