Eloise Walden Eckhouse, 96, passed away after a long illness on Friday, December 22, 2023, in Pensacola, FL. She was born on August 31, 1927, in Daleville, AL to the late Pitt and Ella Walden, the last of eleven children, including her twin sister Louise.
After graduating from high school, Eloise went to school to become a radiology technician and worked at Santa Rosa Hospital in Milton for over twenty years until she retired in 1974. She was involved in many charitable organizations over the years, including the Hadji Shrine Temple in Pensacola.
Eloise enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was famous for her cooking skills, especially the cakes, pies and banana pudding that everybody absolutely loved.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, John Edwin English, her husband of 23 years, William Franklin Thompson, Sr., her husband of 26 years, Morton Allen Eckhouse and her daughter, Elizabeth Ann English Carnley.
She is survived by her twin sister, Louise Godwin, of Enterprise, AL; sons, John (Lisa) English, of Gulf Breeze, FL, Bill (Arlette) Thompson, of Madison, MS, and Steve Eckhouse, of Zephyrhills, FL; daughters, Pamela Burns, of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Ruth (Morris) Faierstein, of Rockville, MD; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
