IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elsie M.
Wolters
June 21, 1926 – June 16, 2021
Elsie M. Wolters, 94 of Pensacola, FL passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Elsie was born on June 21, 1926 in Jay, FL where she graduated from high school. During those years she commuted to Pensacola to work as an operator for Western Union at an hourly pay rate of $.46 approximately $10 a month in 1944. She moved to Pensacola after high school. After getting her Associate Degree she moved into "Bookkeeping" roles for several local accounting and real estate companies. During this time her brother (Ernie Magaha) and future husband (Jack Wolters) returned from the war. Jack and Elsie married and established their home in Pensacola. She and Jack joined East Hill Baptist Church in 1954 where Elsie served as a long time Sunday School Teacher in the preschool department. Elsie followed her entrepreneurial spirit by owning and running multiple souvenir and sportswear shops on Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach while raising her two boys Michael and Victor. In her later years she retired and enjoyed the mountains of Tennessee with the love of her life, Jack Wolters. She always enjoyed planting and growing many different kinds of plants which often covered every wall of her carport. She was a steady force in her extended family spread across multiple generations. We are so happy to know that she is finally home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We look forward to the day when we will see her once again in a heavenly reunion.
