Elvera Ligato (Arlia), 86 of Pensacola, FL passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010. She was born in Heilwood, PA and raised in Bradford, PA. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1941. Elvera married Anthony F. Ligato in 1948 and moved to Cleveland, OH, where she raised her two children. Twenty-four years ago she retired with her husband to Pensacola. She loved Pensacola and became a charter member of PJC Seniors Club and the Scenic Highway Homemakers. She made many friends in Pensacola and Pensacola was always paradise to her. She was preceded in death by her husband; Anthony Ligato; brother, Frank Arlia and sisters, Mary Terryl and Anne Conley. Survivors include her son, Wayne Ligato (Vivian) and their children, Kira Ligato of Virginia Beach, VA, Nicholas Ligato and Danielle Ligato of West Chester, PA; a daughter, Camille Phillips (Dr. Daniel Phillips) and their children, Daniel Phillips, Jr. (Sheryl Ann) and his children, Katie, Megan, Bridget and Erin; Elizabeth Kohl (Murray) and her children, Sarah, Margaret and Rachel; William Phillips (Emily) and Bradley Phillips. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with a prayer service at 2pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:15pm, Monday, January 11, 2010 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church with Fr. James Valenzuala, celebrant. Burial follows at Barrancas National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Anthony Phillips, Bradley Scott Phillips, Paul Salm, Mark Arlia, John Arlia and Frank Arlia, Jr. In Lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the USO or Performance Acts of Kindness with thoughts of our Mother.
