She was born in Toledo, OH on February 28, 1932 and was the youngest of six children born to Mitchell and Ethel Morrisawa, now deceased. Growing up in Manhattan, New York City, Emeretta attended public schools there and also studied art at the Julliard School of Art. Following high school graduation in 1949, she had a brief career in commercial art, then married and had a family of three boys. She married Harry in 1972 after moving to Tallahassee to complete her government career there, retiring in 1992. In Tallahassee, she had the opportunity to foster her interest in fine art by studying watercolor painting. She had found her niche. She went on to become professionally proficient in watercolor painting as well as oil and acrylic painting. She eventually taught watercolor painting classes at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Emeretta received numerous awards for her art work and had achieved "signature" status in the Georgia Watercolor Society and the Southern Watercolor Society through the acceptance of her work in state and national competitive art shows. She was a member of Quayside Art Gallery and Art Study Club in Pensacola. Emeretta and Harry are members of Cokesbury United Methodist Church where she served as a Stephen Minister. Cokesbury and the Christian faith that it represents are a very significant part of our lives. May God bless Emeretta. Emeretta is survived by her loving husband, Harry L. Rudy of Pensacola.
