Retired Army Major Emerson E. Addington, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep May 21, 2015. Jr. was born December 30, 1939 on Rose Mountain in Clinchco, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian L. Addington (Rose); father, Emerson E. Addington, Sr. and brother, MacArthur Addington. Jr. is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Addington and his daughter, Carrie Lynn Addington; step-sons, Tim B. McGarvey (Brad), Brian S. McGarvey and Byron T. McGarvey; his siblings, G. Dennis Addington, Margaret L. Addington (Marcus) and Glenda L. Addington (Elmer); 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be at 10am Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola with a funeral cortege departing at 10:30am to Barrancas National Cemetery for graveside services at 11am with full military honors.
