Emily E. Wakefield, 86, of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, March 20, 2017.

Mrs. Wakefield was born on May 2, 1930 in McComb, MS to Bonnie (Hart) and William F. Elam. She graduated from McComb High School in 1948 and the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked for the Red Cross and was a Special Education Teacher for the Escambia County School System. Her hobbies included traveling, camping and spending time with ones she loved.

Mrs. Wakefield was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace Wakefield; and brother, Frank Elam.

She is survived by her son, Michael W. Wakefield (Carol) of Jacksonville Beach, FL; granddaughter, Brittany M. Wakefield of Arlington, VA; nephews, Basil Yelverton of Gulf Breeze, FL, Dave Yelverton of  Waxhaw, NC and Tim Yelverton of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.

Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Service will be 2:30pm Friday, March 24, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Nott officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
