IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emma C.
Hicks
May 14, 1925 – November 28, 2018
Emma C. Hicks, age 93, of Pensacola, was called home peacefully on November 28, 2018. She was born on May 14, 1925 to the late Christian and Maria Boening, in Augsburg, Germany. Emma survived WWII with her family, after which she immigrated to the U.S.A. with her father. She was known for her spunk, generosity and compassion for animals. These traits were forged by her childhood in Germany, during the war. Emma's family provided refuge to a Jewish neighbor which instilled the values that defined her strong spirit. This is evidenced by her many stray cats that will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brigitta "Kitty" Lujan; grandchildren, Ursula (John) Scapin and Vincent Lujan; great-grandchildren, Demetri Scapin, Alena Scapin and Gabriel Lujan; and a host of cats.
Visitation will be from 12:30 – 1:30pm Tuesday, December 04, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504. A funeral cortege will depart at 1:30pm to Barrancas National Cemetery, where the graveside service will begin at 2:00pm. Rev. Bill Flannigan will officiate.
