Ernest Mac McClauley McJoyner, Jr. 82, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 20, 2010, in Pensacola, FL. Mac was born on June 8, 1927, in San Diego, CA. He called Pensacola his home for the past 55 years. Mac is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Betty Mayo McJoyner; brothers-- in-law: Gene Mayo (Patty), Barron Mayo; sisters-in-law: Doris Jenkins (Ken), Sara J. Hyduk (Norman), Barbara LAbbe (Joe); Nephews: Doug Mayo (Annette), David Mayo, Jeremy LAbbe (fiance Megan White), Nick Hyduk; Nieces: Sheila Parker (Daniel Lightfoot), Sara M. Hyduk (David Seeley), Bonnie McQuagge; Great Nieces & Nephews: Courtney Parker, Nicole Peterson (Eric), Jonathan Mayo; and Special Friends: Keith Lett, Danny Mitchell, and Laurys. Mac was proud to serve his country in the military from 1945 until his retirement in 1974. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a 50-year member of various organizations, including the Hadji Shrine, Scottish Rite, Naval Lodge #24, Order of the Eastern Star Florida Chapter #9. He was a Golden Life Member of the U.S. Naval Institute. He was also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 22, Naval Aviation Museum Foundation, and Pensacola Friends of the Library. The family would like to thank the medical personnel at his Dialysis Center, and all of his doctors and nurses. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 10:15 a.m., at Barrancas National Cemetery, with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Chaplain Ken Griffin will officiate. A Funeral Procession will leave Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
