Ethel Rouchon, 86, of Pensacola went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her children, after a long battle with Alzheimers. Mom was born in Pensacola on July 10, 1924 and was a life-long resident. She was a devoted wife for over 58 years. Mama was a true stay at home mom. You could always stop in at Mamas and Daddys for a cup of coffee and it you were lucky one of her great seafood dishes, especially her seafood gumbo. Mama deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death was her husband, Albert Rouchon; parents, Otto and Lillie Anderson; her siblings; her daughter, Patricia and her grandsons, John and Jeffrey. She is survived by her children; Mary, Judy (Mickey), Joyce (Johnnie), Jerry (Karen) and Susie; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel from 1-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial follows at Holy Cross Cemetery. Special thanks is given to the staff at The Haven of Our Lady of Peace and Covenant Hospice for their loving care.
