Obituary

Ethel Linda Zeiler, 80, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 30, 1944, Linda lived a life full of kindness, grace, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most.

Linda grew up in Hoomesville, AL, and graduated from W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, AL, in 1962. She went on to graduate from Auburn University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Later in her career, she earned an ESOL endorsement from Pensacola Junior College.

Linda spent her career in education, where she found great joy in loving children and serving their families. Her dedication to her students and her passion for teaching left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Linda had a deep love for Auburn University, and throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling there to visit family and friends and to attend various sporting events. Auburn held a special place in her heart, and the memories of her time there brought her much happiness.

Linda's love for travel also reflected her curiosity and appreciation for other cultures. She found joy in exploring new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and learning from the world around her. Her adventurous spirit was a testament to her desire to connect with and understand the diverse beauty of the world.

Throughout her life, Linda found peace and joy visiting her family farm in Hoomesville, a place that remained close to her heart and where many cherished memories were made.

Linda's love for Jesus was a cornerstone of her life, and being an active member of her church was always important to her. She passed that love and faith on to both of her sons, instilling in them the values of kindness, compassion, and devotion.

Linda was the beloved wife of Richard John Zeiler III, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising two devoted sons, Todd Lambert Zeiler and John David Zeiler.

One of Linda's greatest joys was being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Aubrey Zeiler Moniz (James), Ashlyn Zeiler Perry (Carson), Hannah Zeiler Fisher (Matthew), David Clark Zeiler, and Addison Renee Zeiler. She took great pride in their accomplishments and treasured every moment spent with them.

Linda is preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents, Homer Lambert and Mary Marjorie (Holmes) Lambert.

She is survived by her husband, Richard John Zeiler III; her sons, Todd Lambert Zeiler (Keely Hightower) and John David Zeiler (Jennifer Clark); her brother, Stephen Homer Lambert (Ann Waldrup); her nephew, Andrew Waldrup Lambert; her niece, Stephanie Lambert Sexton (Casey), and her grandchildren.

Linda's warmth and kindness touched many lives. She had a generous heart, always offering support and encouragement to those around her. Whether through a comforting word, a home-cooked meal, or a heartfelt embrace, Linda's love was felt deeply by family and friends alike.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. Though she will be dearly missed, her spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her.
