Eugene P. Williamson, Sr., 93, of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, December 5, 2016.
Mr. Williamson was born in Brewton, AL on October 2, 1923 to Pearlie H. and Josie (Golden) Williamson. He was drafted into the US Navy in 1942 and served honorably until 1946. After his service to his country Eugene married Mary Elizabeth Killingsworth on September 27, 1946. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute, now Auburn University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. After his graduation, Mr. Williamson worked with the DuPont Corporation in Camden, SC from 1951-'56 before moving to Chemstrand/Monsanto in 1956 retiring in 1982 as the Plant Engineer. He was a longtime member of the Cantonment Rotary Club and the Elks Lodge #2108. In 2000, Mr. Williamson received his 50th year pin and certificate from the Auburn Masonic Lodge #76, his home lodge where he was a member for 66 years. In 1956, Eugene and his family joined the Gonzalez Baptist Church before moving their letters to First Baptist Church Pensacola. Among many hobbies he enjoyed were fishing, hunting, golfing but most of all his Auburn Tigers Football.
Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marshall Williamson; sister, Josie Pearl Barnes and nephew, Edwin Allen Tisdale.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Elizabeth Williamson; daughter, Mary Ann Roehrig (Richard); son, Eugene Paul Williamson, Jr. (Marie); granddaughter, Emily Susan Williamson; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be 10:30am until the Funeral Service at 12:00pm Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Gene Williamson, Richard Roehrig, David Partick, Adrian Hammond, Henry Fillingim and Bo Booker.

The Williamson Family would like to recognize a special group his fishing buddies, the late Sam Kirkland, John Nowlin, Henry Fillingim, Adrian Hammond, Kenneth Taylor and Bo Booker.
