Eunice Irene Goldhagen 1926-2011 Eunice Irene Goldhagen, 84, of Pensacola, FL was called home to the Lord on Friday, February 11, 2011. Mom was born March 28, 1926 in Sparta, KY to Edith and Robert Wheeler. Mom was the youngest of two girls and she lived a long life experiencing many joys along the way. Throughout life, Mom always remained a strong, positive and caring person who provided family, friends and all she came in contact with a shining example of how to live. Mom worked into her 70s before retiring, she loved family, friends, the beach and relaxing by the pool. In Moms last years, her greatest joy came from her grandson, Zak. Mom patiently waited for Zaks arrival and when he finally came into this world, Moms universe was complete. Zak made Mom happy beyond measure and her abounding love for him filled the last years of her life with great happiness and fulfillment. All of us who were touched by Mom have truly been blessed. Mom was a woman of strength. Preceding her in death was her parents, Edith and Robert Wheeler and a brother-in-law, Dr. T. W. Gabe. Survivors include her grandson, Zakary Goldhagen; her children, Mark and Karen; daughter-in-law, Beth; sister, Bernie; nieces, Gayle and Cheryl and a nephew, Teddy. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Blankschaen officiating.
