Evelyn Fraser, age 90, of Pensacola, was called home suddenly on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at her home. She was born May 28, 1928 to the late Stephen and Bertha Hughes, in Ridley Park, PA. Evelyn was a long time member of Olive Baptist Church and subsequently of Olive Baptist Church – Warrington Campus. She was known for her habit of reading scripture every morning and her love of travel. Evelyn was an avid supporter of the evangelist Billy Graham's ministry. She was a generous woman in both time and spirit to many organizations and recently received an award for her efforts supporting the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. Evelyn served more than 21 years as a volunteer at the Homefront section of the National Naval Aviation Museum. She is preceded in death by her husband George Edward Fraser; her parents and her brother Earl Hughes. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Laura Messinger (Melvin) of Wilmington, DE, Connie May LoRusso of Pensacola, FL and Catherine LoRusso of Kerrville, TX; grandson Eric Gould (Kimberly) of Wilmington, DE; great-grandson Evan Gould of Wilmington, DE; brothers Stephen Hughes (Jeanne) of Monroeville, AL and Leonard Hughes (Leah) of Boothwyn, PA; and many nieces, nephews, church family and close friends. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the funeral service begins at 11:00am, Wednesday September 19, 2018, at Olive Baptist Church – Warrington Campus, 103 W Winthrop Ave, Pensacola, FL 32507. Rev. Mike Dimick will officiate. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Evelyn's family wishes to acknowledge all of her special friends from Olive Baptist Church and Liberty Church.
