Evelyn Louise Garrison Morgan, 88, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Azalea Trace, Pensacola, FL. She was born in Irvington, NJ October 17, 1926 when, during the Great Depression, her father had moved from Virginia to be a shipwright. The family returned to Virginia and she was raised in Fredericksburg with two brothers, Leroy and John (Jack), both of whom pre-deceased her. Evelyn was the first of her family to continue education beyond high school. After graduating from Mary Washington College, she was trained at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA as a lab technician. A Fourth of July picnic with her lab tech buddies and a couple of graduate students introduced her to a young engineer from Georgia Tech who proposed on the drive to Virginia for Thanksgiving. Lyman Wallace Morgan and she were married the following spring, March 18, 1951. Evelyn was a musical person, known for her clear soprano. She sang with the choir at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church for 35 years and made sure each of her 5 children took music lessons. Evelyn participated in many activities in the Parish in addition to being a member of the choir. She helped organize the annual Christmas house tour and lunch, helped do the needlework on the kneelers at the altar rail (a work of the heart for a group of ladies that took 3 years) .. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her children and their spouses, Karen and Andy Kearney of Myrtle Beach, SC, Leslie and Michael Crowley of Chatham, NJ, Molly and Jack Saviola of Buffalo, NY, Lyman and Danielle Morgan of Woodstock, Georgia, Catherine and Brian Dubas of Falls Church, VA; 6 grandsons, Timothy, Stephen and Daniel Saviola, Josh Crowley, Joseph and Robert Dubas and 6 granddaughters, Victoria and Oksana Kearney, Gabrielle Crowley, Claire and Erin Dubas and Kimberly Morgan; her dear sisters-in-law, Frances and Genevieve Garrison; 6 nieces and nephews and their children. Her husband of 60 years passed away in April, 2011. A member since 1963, a Memorial service will be held at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church at 2pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Private family graveside services are at Holy Cross Cemetery.
