Evelyn Beatrice Henderson, 89, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at her home. Evelyn was born July 15, 1925 in Pace, FL the eighth of nine children born to Jack and Mattie Cooper. Evelyn grew up in Pace, FL and a graduate of Milton High School, where she was head majorette. She taught school in Wallace, FL until she married Harry G. Henderson on September 12, 1947 and became a full time homemaker. She was a beloved wife, mother, granny, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, four sisters and one grandson. Evelyn is survived by her sons; Harry, Jim and Tim; her grandchildren, Natalie Pollard (Beau), Brad Henderson and Brittan Henderson; great-grandchildren, Trace and Mason Henderson, Colton and Bronson Pollard; a brother, Dooley (Peggy) Cooper; brother-in-law, Crocket Henderson; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Henderson and Louise Henderson along with many nieces, nephews and family friends. Visitation will be held at 2pm Monday, September 15, 2014 with Funeral services beginning at 3pm from Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Dr., #100, Pensacola, FL 32504 or to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
