Evelyn Louise Horton, 90, of Pensacola, FL formally of Salem, OR died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Evelyn was born January 27, 1923 to John and Altha Edwards in Maben, MS. She graduated from the Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Memphis, TN. She was commissioned in the US Navy and attended Moody Bible Institute. She served at the US Naval Hospital in Corona, CA where she met her husband, George Evan Horton. Evelyn and George faithfully served together in ministry 30 years then retired to Pensacola, FL. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, her son, George Evan Horton, Jr. and is survived by her daughters; Joy Hayes (Dennis), Nita Pearl Sawyer, Gracelyn Pires and Althea Logan (Steve); her youngest brother, Joseph Ray Edwards; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 9:30am, Friday, February 8, 2013 with a Funeral service to begin at 10:30am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Logan officiating.
