Obituary

Evelyn Elizabeth (Shelby) Fannin, 83, a retired LPN and lifelong resident of Pensacola, FL went to her heavenly home on November 29, 2019. She was born on January 6, 1936 to the late Annie and George Shelby.

Evelyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She graduated from Pensacola High and nursing school. She worked as an LPN @ Sacred Heart in the NICU for 42 years and retired in 1998. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star Myrtle Grove Chapter #302, and Plural Member of West Pensacola Chapter #252, she served as Worthy Matron in 1984, 1988, 2000 and 2007. She loved spending time with family and friends and telling stories about the good ole days. She always put family before herself. She was quite the character and had a great sense of humor. She loved her Florida Gators, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves and New Orleans Saints. She will never be forgotten and forever loved.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Annie and George Shelby; daughters, Elizabeth Dacuma and Laura Upchurch; grandchildren, Andy Dacuma and Jed Upchurch; sisters, Clara Nelson, Barbara Burgchardt and Linda Chinn; brothers, Joseph Shelby and Richard Shelby; brother-in-law, Aubrey Nelson; sister-in-law, Faith Shelby; son-in-law, Raymond Upchurch.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Dacuma, Mary Dacuma and Iris Upchurch; brother-in-law, Roger Chinn; son-in-law, Arturo Dacuma; sister-in-law, Tommie Shelby Pearson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Hwy 90E, Pensacola, FL 32503 with Pastor Nancy Hammond officiating followed by Order of Eastern Star Services. Mrs. Fannin's granddaughter will give the eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
