Obituary
Florence Hilburn Gates Garretson, age 102, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 29, 2015.
Florence was born January 10, 1913 in Monroe, LA where she lived until she moved to Pensacola, FL eighteen years ago to be with her son, Charles C. Garretson. She was a homemaker until the death of her husband, Charles Buiste Garretson. After his death, she became a Realtor and was President of the Monroe Realtors Association.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Buiste Garretson and her second husband, Aubrey Gates.
Florence is survived by her only child, Charles C. Garretson, an attorney practicing in both Florida and Louisiana for the last 47 years. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Ashely Garretson Guaragna and two great grandchildren, Lilah and Nicholas Guaragna of Austin, TX.
To honor Florence's request, there will be no final services. Her ashes will be buried in a private family service next to her husband, Charles, at Riverside Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Florence H. Gates Garretson.
