Virginia passed peacefully away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 after a bout with the flu. She was born in Pensacola, FL on February 10, 1927 to Arthur John and Florrie Mabel Ransley.
She was a Pensacola High School graduate and attended Florida State University. She met and married Lynn Miller and moved to Buffalo, NY. In 1946, she gave birth to her only daughter, Elise. In 1952, she became interested in flower arranging and apprenticed at the best store in Buffalo. There she learned basic design and display techniques and worked for nearly twenty years. When she returned to Pensacola, in 1974, a seasoned professional, she took over management of Sleepy Hollow Florist on Navy Blvd. She also developed a love for tennis which inspired her throughout her life.
She is survived by her sister, Emma Ruth Felton; her daughter, Elise Boesch (William); her two grandchildren, William Boesch, Jr. and Christina VanCamp (Clayton) and one great grandson, Hunter VanCamp. She is also survived by nieces, Nancy Felton, Rosemary Yonke (Pete), Marian Patzmann (Bruce), Lynne Canham (David), Jean Tuggle (John) and Jayne Hough (Hank); nephews, Jeffrey Prince (Anne), Edward Felton (Gwen), Donald Arbona (Sharon), Joseph Arbona (Val), Mark Arbona, and Steve Arbona (Debe); cousins, James Pierce,M.D. (Sherry), and Carolyn Brewton (Wayne).
The family will receive friends at 10:00am until a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30am Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
