Foy Lee Gatlin, 94, died Wednesday June 19, 2013. He was born May 18, 1919 in Estophel, AL. Foy joined the Army Air Corp in 1939 and served during World War II. He then worked at NAS Pensacola for 37 years. Foy met and married his soul mate, Dorothy Harper Gatlin. They were married 57 years until she passed in 2004. Foy is survived by his three daughters, Penny Moody (Phil), Janet Gracey (Rod) and Debbie Gilmore (Dale); grandchildren, Tommy Jones (Claudia), Kim Hall (Jason), Celeste Rivenbark (David), Carrie Demanss (Alex), Crissy Longhurst (Rob), David Gilmore (Kathy) and Dana Gilmore; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Opal McGowan; sister-in-law, Glynn Gatlin; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 12noon until the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00pm Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Porter, Richard Harper, Lane Harper, Donnie Harper, Frank Stokes, Bo Gatlin and Joe Johns. The family would like to thank Homestead Village and Covenant Hospice for the loving kindness shown to him during his last hours. Flowers will be accepted or donations to Covenant Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
