Father Hugh Ernan Dolan, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Father Dolan was born in Longford, Ireland on February 10, 1930 to Margaret Mary (Hernan) Dolan and James Thadeus Dolan. He was educated by the De LaSalle Brothers in elementary school. Father attended Belcamp College in Dublin and received his graduate degrees from University College, Dublin and St. Patrick's Seminary, Carlow, Ireland. He was ordained to the Priesthood in 1957 and came to the USA the same year to serve in the Mobile Diocese. Father Dolan served in parishes in Alabama and Florida his whole career of 43 years. After retirement, he continued to help in parishes in Florida and Alabama when called upon. Father Dolan is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James Thadeus Dolan, Jr. and Leo Joseph Dolan and a sister, Mrs. Patrick (Roisin Dolan) Reilly. He is survived by a brother, Denis Anthony Dolan of Moville, Co. Donegal, Ireland; his nephews, Eugene James Reilly of Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim, Ireland, Paul Hugh Reilly, MD of Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Ireland and his nieces, Mrs. Ian (Margaret Mary Reilly) Buler of Oxford, England, Mrs. John (Mary Vesta) Gutewski of North Weymouth, MA and Mrs. Paul (Linda Vesta) Roy of Hingham, MA. A Mid-day Prayer service will be held at 12:30pm Friday, May 29, 2015 with visitation continuing until a Mass of Christian Burial begins at 2:00pm from the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where Fr. Dolan served from 1960 until 1967. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Medical Clinic Memorial, P. O.
