Frances Marie Gibbons Little, 84, passed away peacefully in the arms of her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the afternoon of Sunday, November 19, 2017.
Frances was born on October 18, 1933 in Prattville, AL to Wm. Samuel Gibbons and Lurlene Gibbons. Her parents later moved to Pensacola, FL. After graduation from Pensacola High School, she began her work at the Escambia County Sheriff's Office in September 1952 and retired in 1997. Her career as a Legal Secretary started with being Sheriff Kendrick's secretary and then was Captain W.E. Ambrose's secretary until his death and continued to work throughout the ECSO until her retirement. She was admired and well respected not only by her fellow colleagues but also the local legal community. She professed Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was a former member of First Baptist Church and later became a member of Hillcrest Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Little, Jr.; a son, David Little and a brother, Samuel Earl Gibbons.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Little; her son, Thomas W. Little; her brothers, Rayburn Gibbons and Richard Gibbons; her sister, Ann King (Martin); and many nieces and nephews; as well as grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Monday, November 27, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Pat Mobley officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Escambia County Sheriff's Office past and present Law Enforcement Officers.
