Frances Nellums Osborne, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2018 surround by family and friends.
She was born July 1, 1926 in Pensacola, FL the daughter of the late Louis and Evadne Nellums. She was united in marriage to Thomas G. Osborne on March 30, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1994. They were married 46 years.
Frances had an unwavering faith in God. She was a charter member of Heights Baptist Church, was very involved and was known for her decorating talents. Family and friends remember her as a hostess for many showers, teas, parties, receptions and church dinners. She retired from Liberty National Insurance in 1988 and was well respected within the professional community. She also provided administrative support to her husband and his partners as they produced property appraisals to secure land for the construction of Interstate 10 through Northwest Florida.
Mrs. Osborne was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was known to many as Granny or Momma #2. She cherished spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband as well as her siblings, Lorraine Tucei, L.E. Nellums, Rheba Moyer, and Peggy Ard.
She was the devoted mother of daughter, Suella O. Smith; son, Thomas E. Osborne and wife Karen. The cherished grandmother of Lydia (Marcus) Higgins, Kenna (Ryan) Smith, Thomas (Kristen) Osborne Jr. and Blake (Crystal) Osborne. Granny was the doting great-grandmother of Reagan, MaKenzy, Jakob, Addyson, Rylie, Kenslie, Abigail, Dalton, Blake Jr. and Kade.
Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service at 2:00pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Nott and Rev. Fred Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Heights Baptist Church, 600 Pickens Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503.
Our sincere appreciation to family and friends who provided love and support through visits and calls. The family thanks the staff at The Waterford at Carpenter's Creek for the love and care they provided. In addition, many thanks to Adam Willis and the Emerald Coast Hospice Team for the compassion and attention that she was given.
