Ann Brewton, 81, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born on June 14, 1932 in Mobile, AL. After graduating from Pensacola Catholic High School in 1950, she began a long lasting career as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mentor to all under her matriarchy. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed bridge and was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart since 1943. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Walters; her sister, Margie Walters Gindl and her first husband, LT j.g. F. M. Cahill. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Billy G. Brewton; her four daughters; Denise Cahill (Chuck) Brent, Peggy Cahill (Val) Zanetti, Tracy Brewton Weidman and Mary K. Brewton; a sister, Flossie Walters Chapman; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Fr. Matt Worthen celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jack Hartley, Patrick Hartley, Ryan Brent, Chuck Hartley, Jack Weidman and Joseph Delaney. Honorary pallbearers will be Braxton Galloway, Will Delaney and John Grady Galloway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pensacola Catholic High School, 3043 W. Scott St., Pensacola, FL 32505.
