Frank J. Orzechowski, 98, of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Frank spent his youth in New Jersey (even caddying for Babe Ruth once), but after enlisting in the United States military and flying a heroic 30 missions over Germany and France during WWII, he moved south with his parents to DeFuniak Springs, FL. It was there that he owned a service station and dance hall before marrying and moving to Pensacola in the early 1950's, where he and his wife Nita raised their four daughters.
During his career, Frank was dedicated to keeping the folks at the Chemstrand / Monsanto plant in Pensacola cool for over 30 years, and in retirement could always be found fixing things and working on projects around the house. Aside from being handy, fishing, gardening, and winning at the casinos were his favorite pastimes. He absolutely loved growing and giving away his tomatoes, peppers, beans and chives to family and friends.
Family time was especially important to Frank. Birthday celebrations and holidays were always at his house as the family expanded over the years. We'll all miss him tremendously.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; sister; wife, and a daughter.
He is survived by three daughters; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 9:30am until a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:30am Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL, with Fr. James Valenzuela celebrant. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff, doctors, and nurses at The Haven of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home for their kindness and dedication to helping Frank during his stay.
