Frederick Gund, 70, of Pensacola, died on August 3, 2014 at his home. Fred was born on February 20, 1944 at the old Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He graduated from Pensacola Catholic High, then from the University of Notre Dame with two degrees. He earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University. Fred's parents are Charles F. Gund and Marie Gund. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother and four siblings; Ted (Judy), Ed (Sharon), Nancy, and Charles Jr. (Jeanne) and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred leaves behind treasured friends from all walks of his life. Fred worked as a CPA throughout his career. He also lent his financial management expertise to numerous organizations over the years, most notably, the Bayshore Condominium Association and Catholic High School. Fred was regarded by all who knew him as a gentleman and a scholar and by all who dealt with him as kind, honest and fair. He will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew him. Services for Fred will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 140 West Government St., on Friday, August 8, 2014. The rosary will be recited at 10:00am, visitation will occur from 10:15 to 11:00 and the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Fred's name to Pensacola Catholic High School, 3043 West Scott St., Pensacola, FL 32505.
