IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Michael
Carter
October 31, 1962 – June 18, 2024
Gary Michael Carter, 61, of Pensacola, FL, left us to be with our Savior on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
He was born in Providence, RI, and lived there until his parents moved to Pensacola in 1973. He graduated from B.T. Washington High School in 1981. Although Gary did not marry, he had a full life. He was the past President of the North Pensacola Optimist Club and a long-time member of the Pensacola Model Train Club. Gary was involved with the Eagle Scouts for many years. He loved to fish whenever he had the chance. If you couldn't find him, he was either at a baseball game or at the hockey rink, cheering on his favorite hometown teams. If he wasn't there, you could always find him hanging out at car shows or watching the Blue Angels fly. Gary was a very quiet person, and sometimes didn't say much, but he was always listening and taking it all in.
In the last few years, he endured so much with cancer, diabetes, and kidney failure, but through it all, he never complained. Our friend and confidant will truly be missed. He was surrounded by his loving family at his time of passing.
He is survived in death by his father, Kenneth Carter, Sr., and mother, Evelyn Carter, of Pensacola, and his only brother, Kenneth Carter, Jr., and his wife, Deborah Carter, of Pensacola, FL.
Visitation will be held 1:00pm until a Memorial Service begins at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504. Fr. Hank Lech will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pensacola Humane Society www.pensacolahumane.org in his honor.
