Gary M. Summit 69, of Cantonment, FL, joined his lord and savior on Sunday August 2, 2026, after a brief battle with gastric cancer.

He was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, FL. Gary was born to Betty and Clyde Summitt on December 5, 1956, and was a graduate of Escambia High School and the University of West Florida, before kickstarting and operating his own promotions and advertising company.

Gary was a member of Olive Baptist Church for 36 years, 20 of those years of which he proudly served teaching Sunday school. His steadfast faith and unwavering spirit demonstrated a godly example to all who knew him and provided the ultimate comfort of assurance in his eternal salvation.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Summitt.

Survivors include his wife Kency of 36 years and son Garrett Summitt.

A Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until a Funeral Service begins at 2:00 pm Monday August 10, 2026, at Olive Baptist Church, 1936 E. Olive Rd, Pensacola, FL 32514, with longtime friend Minister Dennis Dean officiating. A Funeral Cortege and Graveside Service will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Gary will be remembered for his abiding commitment to Christ, singular sense of humor, and interminable love and friendship to everyone he met.
