George Raymond Beck, Jr., 76, of St. Louis, MO and formerly of Pensacola, FL passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. He grew up in Harrisburg, PA where he was Valedictorian of his high school class at age 16. He went on to Drexel University where he obtained a Chemical Engineering degree. He then went to University of Pennsylvania where he obtained a Law degree. He worked for Mobil Oil in New York, before joining Monsanto Corporation as a Patent Lawyer in Pensacola, where he met and married his wife, Maudie Jo Waters Beck in 1969. He is survived by his loving wife, Maudie Jo Waters Beck of St. Louis, MO and daughter, Andrea Jo Beck of Pensacola, FL. Visitation will be held 12 noon until a Funeral Service to begin at 1:00pm Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Pleitz Chapel of First Baptist Church, Pensacola with Dr. Barry Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be William E. Waters, Hon. Paul Rasmeussen, George Forsberg, Jearld L. Miller, Jack Phillips and Joe Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Tarter, Howard Stanley, Jon Beusen, Gary Bond and Dr. Gregg Bogosian. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 500 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32501.
