George Powell, Jr. died June 3, 2014. He was a native of Geneva County, AL and a resident of Pensacola, FL since 1946. Mr. Powell proudly served in WWII, retired from NARF at NAS Pensacola, was a member of Masonic Lodge #310, and a member of Heights Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Madge Holley Powell; a son, Paul George Powell; daughter-in-law, Shyla Powell and beloved grandson, Liam Gatlin Powell; his brother and sister-in-law, Forest and Dorothy Powell, and several more nieces, nephews, in-laws and special friends. Visitation will be held 9:30am until the Funeral Service to begin at 10:00am Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Nott & Rev. Fred Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to Heights Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice.
