George Ray Murphy, 83, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020.

Mr. Murphy was born in Pensacola, FL on February 22, 1937 to Steve and Martha (Smith) Murphy. He was drafted out of high school and became an Army Ranger where he served in Korea. He managed A&P grocery store and retired after 30 years. George was a simple man who appreciated the finer things in life like western movies, porch sitting, Little Debbie's and bird watching.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Martha (Smith) Murphy; brother, Donald Murphy; sister, Jeanine Murphy Hadley.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Carnley Murphy; daughters, Crystal Elaine Coulter (Ron) of Panama City, FL and Debra Lynn Ladyman (Chris) of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Ashley Claypole, Ryan Coulter, Jessica Ladyman and Courtney Ladyman; great grandchildren, Coral and Reef Claypole; brother, James Steve Murphy, Jr of Pensacola, FL; three nephews and two nieces.

Family services will be held Thursday, April 30, 2020 with Pastor David Scruggs officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Coulter, Ryan Claypole, Rick Purvis, Bill Crittenden, Mike Allen and Robert Coulter.
