George was born on February 22, 1944, in Pensacola, FL and grew up in nearby Baker, FL. He graduated from Baker High School in 1962. After graduating, George enlisted and served in the US Air Force (USAF) from 1962 until 1966. During his military service, he was stationed in the Philippines for 15 months. George entered and remained in the Plumbers and Steamfitters Apprentice School from 1967 to 1972. He then joined the Local Union 336 from 1972 to 1975. He spent the remainder of his career employed at the Naval Aviation Depot, Naval Air Station Pensacola until it closed, finishing his career at Public Works at NAS Pensacola where he retired in 1999.

The love George had for his family was abundant. From being the neighborhood dad when his children were young to being a papa, he loved being around his family. George and Betty were blessed with 58 years full of love, family, and joy.
