George Herbert Stedman, 84, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

George was born in Boston, MA on October 29, 1939, to James Herbert and Helen Mosher Stedman. He earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Florida State University and an MBA from Troy State University. George cherished trips with Sarah, especially European destinations, and annual family gatherings in Gulf Shores State Park. They would often take their kids camping when they were young, and later would take their grandchildren on many of their trips. George loved raising vegetables and tending his flowers. He enjoyed all types of music, from classical to bluegrass. He and Sarah were longtime members of Trinity Presbyterian Church and Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah V. Stedman; son, Kevin Stedman (Patti); daughter, Valerie Stedman (Carl); two grandchildren, Bradley and Erin Stedman; sister-in-law, Feli Stedman; two nieces, Holly and Julie; in-laws, Jim and Ginny McCall; brother-in-law, Tommy Jones; as well as several nephews.

George is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Russell Stedman; and a sister-in-law, Susan Jones.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 30, 2024, at Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs, FL. On Saturday, August 31, 2024, visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Northminster Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Greg Seltzer officiating.
