Mr. George W. Thomas, Jr., 86, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

George W. Thomas, Jr. also known as "Pop" was born on September 28, 1933 in New Orleans, LA. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict Era, peacetime and Vietnam Era. He served in the US Army from May 17, 1954 to March 12, 1968. He was a retired veteran who enjoyed watching Western and Military movies, drinking his coffee but his greatest love was reading his Bible, the word of God. Mr. George Washington Thomas, Jr. was loveable, generous, kind hearted man, and the most humbly man I have ever known. He always shared his knowledge and wisdom to his family. He lived a simple life and a person who put others needs above his He also enjoyed God's creations. He loved God and he loved people.

Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Doris Marie Thomas; father, George Washington Thomas, Sr.; mother, Ida Mae Tolbert King; sister, Gloria Mae Thomas Hogan and daughter, Helena M. Reddix.

He is survived by his daughter, Ralanya H. Schneider; son-in-law, Michael P. Schneider; daughter Mrs. Elena J. Manns; son-in-law Mr. Michael Manns; son, Msgt. Christopher S. Reddix; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Thomas will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery due to COVID there will be no services.

Thank you and many blessings to all the staff at Baptist Hospital, Progressive Care Unit doctors and nurses who took care of our dad, that tested for COVID 19 during his final moments of life. You all are at risking your lives to save others. Baptist Hospital are amazing and an outstanding hospital.
