Obituary

George E. Williams, age 87, a long time resident of Pensacola passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014. George was born in Washington, D.C. May 11, 1927. He spent his early years in College Park, Georgia and following in his family's footsteps joined the Navy to serve his country. Early in his service he met and married the love of his life, Meriam Haun. They married February 8, 1948 beginning their remarkable love story that would span almost seven decades of love and devotion to one another. George and Meriam enjoyed traveling, gold mining, treasure hunting, eating out, fishing and ballroom dancing. During his lifetime, besides being a magnificent husband and father, George was a Boy Scout leader and over many years donated gallons of blood. George was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia Wyman Maxwell. He is survived by his treasured love, his wife, Meriam and two children, Theresa Williams Coffey and her husband Richard and Tony G. Williams and his wife Janice. George is also survived by three grandchildren: Justin T. Williams, Alissa Williams Lindheim and Miranda Coffey Lampron as well as two precious great-granddaughters, Pariss L. Stark and Jubilee M. Lampron all of Pensacola. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Airport Blvd. in Pensacola. Funeral Services will be held 11:30am Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, followed by burial at Barrancas National Cemetery at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests you do as George so often did. Take a family member, family or a friend some flowers or take them out to their favorite restaurant and enjoy some wonderful time together. The family would like to thank George's loving and dedicated caregivers Cathy, Rena, Ree and Victoria and his DaVita family on Creighton Road who have always been so kind and caring. We would also like to extend and whole hearted thank you to so many family, adopted Chea family, and friends that were so kind to call, visit, bring food or flowers and spend time with our beloved Daddy.
