Obituary

Gerald Reneau Dominey, 53, of Cantonment passed away Monday, February 16, 2009. Gerald was born in Mobile, AL on June 29, 1955. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church. Gerald was an avid Gator Fan and loved taking his son Edward to games. He loved his family and especially playing school with his daughter Sarah. One of his many passions was following the University of Florida Gators and another was the Stock Market. Gerald graduated from Escambia High School in 1973, Pensacola Junior College in 1975 and received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from The University of Florida in 1978. He worked at Warrington Pharmacy, City Drugs until most recently, The Drug Shop. Serving people was his heart and for 31 years enjoyed helping everybody. Gerald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Eugene and Mary Jo Patterson, Raymond J. and Claudia Dominey. He is survived by his wife, Deana; son, Edward; daughter, Sarah; and son, Jonathan (Chris); father and mother, Rev. Reneau and Jean Marie Dominey; brothers, Raymond (Emma), John (Marcia) and David; brother and sister in law, Kevin and Freida Beaty; 2 granddaughters; 6 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Martin officiating. Burial to follow at Myrtle Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Norm Ross, Robin Reed, Doug Sansom, Eddie Rushing, Kevin Beaty, Greg Raughton, John Dickson and Brian Harrison. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. William H. Nass, William C. Dewberry and Lorenzo Stewart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gerald R. Dominey Pharmacy School Scholarship Fund at Members First Credit Union of Florida, P.O. Box 12983 Pensacola, FL 32591-2983. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
