Geraldine Edlund Henderson, 91, of Pensacola, FL, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 25th, 2022.

Gerry was born on May 21st, 1930, to the late John Earl Edlund and Viola Fredrickson Edlund. She graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School and then went on to achieve 3 bachelor's degrees and 2 master's degrees from Pensacola Junior College, the University of West Florida, and Troy University.

Before retirement, Gerry worked at the City of Pensacola, Energy Services of Pensacola (ESP), volunteered at the Appetite for Life, Favor House, & Tip Program, assisted in the kitchen at Escambia County School District, was a switchboard operator at Sacred Heart Hospital, and threw paper routes up into her 80's. She always wanted to further her education and remained busy after retirement with her family and friends. She was a devoted Catholic throughout her life and walked very closely with the lord. Gerry loved history, traveling to new places, camping, helping others, and being the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many.

Gerry is preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Henderson Sr.; and her two sons, Randy Henderson and Robert Henderson.

She is survived by three of her five children: Kim Cooper, Herb Henderson, and Michael Henderson; six grandchildren, Cody Cooper, Zach Cooper, Kyle Cooper, Miranda Henderson, Ashley Henderson, and Mitchell Henderson; sister, Ellen Barotti, and her daughter, Pam Greninger; sister, Cathy Edlund and three sons; and many great cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at 9:00am, Friday, April 29, 2022, with Funeral Mass at 10:00am at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (1212 E Moreno St, Pensacola, FL 32503). Entombment will be held shortly after the ceremony at the Holy Cross Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held after the burial back at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

Active pallbearers will be Herb Henderson, Michael Henderson, Mitchell Henderson, Cody Cooper, Zach Cooper, and Kyle Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be John Earl Edlund III (Johnny), William (Bill) Baker Jr., and Mark Clark.
