Gertrude Mary Knipper, age 98, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred; sons Bill and Gerald Knipper and all her siblings. She is survived by her son, James Knipper (Joan); daughter, Rosemary Frederickson (Charles); 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Knipper was born in Kansas City, KS, but was a resident of Pensacola for over 60 years and a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church. She had many hobbies including gardening and crocheting. Everyone loved her scrubbies, doilies, angels and all the beautiful crocheted items she created. At age 90, she declared she was going for 100, and she almost made it. Friends and family were inspired by her attitude and spunk. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 5-7pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 10:30am from St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Hector R. G. Perez, S.T.D. celebrant. Burial follows at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, friends may send donations to United Cerebral Palsy NW FL Bus Fund, 2912 N.
