Glenda Carole (Maddox) Newton, 85, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Glenda grew up in Pensacola, FL and was a graduate of Pensacola High School class of 1954. She attended and was married in East Hill Baptist Church, on November 24,1955 to Jimmie Bruce Newton also from Pensacola, FL. She was a die-hard Alabama fan, quilter, artist, genealogy enthusiast and beach comber.
Glenda is proceeded in death by her husband, Jimmie Bruce Newton; parents, Bedford and Leola Maddox; two brothers, Melvin Maddox and Harry Wayne Maddox; as well as a sister-in-law, Brenda Maddox.
She is survived by her children, Sherri Newton (Monica) of Baton Rouge, LA, Jimmie Bruce Newton Jr. (Maureen) of Spanish Fort, AL, Carla Longshore of Dothan, AL, and Libby Newton (Techy) of Atlanta, GA; her dearly loved grandchildren, Richard William Hanberg (Jennifer), Jimmie Bruce Newton III (Lindsey), Carrie Renee Williams, Christopher Paul Newton, Matthew Taylor Newton, Caitlyn Ann Robison, Michael Macon Conner Newton, and Liliana Elizabeth Ubillus Newton; as well as the center of her heart, her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Allie, Avery, Maddox, Scarlett, Emma, Viviennen, and Rosie; her sister-in-law, Cecilia Mae Sargeant and family and last but not least her beloved fur baby, Bama.
Visitation will be held 12:00noon until the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 1:00pm Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504. Entombment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Hwy., Pensacola, FL 32503.
