Glennis E. Angelo, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, in Pensacola, FL.

Glennis was born on July 14, 1943, in Alameda, California, a daughter of the late Glenn and Charlotte Thomsen. She grew up and lived in Alameda until she met and married Paul Meigs.

She was a military wife and lived in several states including Florida, Maine, Tennessee, California and Virginia. While stationed in Pensacola in the mid-1970s, she and her husband fell in love with the area and ultimately decided to retire to Pensacola in 1978.

Glennis was a Licensed Practical Nurse, a career she was proud of and passionate about. It was during her career as a nurse that she met and worked for Dr. Don S. Angelo. She and Don worked closely together with Don practicing as Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Glennis as his nurse. Following her divorce and the untimely death of Marilyn Angelo, Don and Glennis began a courtship that lasted several years. They finally married in 2007 with family and friends witnessing their reunion and were together until Don’s death in 2025.

In addition to being a wonderful and compassionate nurse, Glennis loved to shop. She was one of the original fashionistas, always on trend with her clothing, accessories and hairstyles.

Glennis never forgot a birthday, anniversary or any special occasion. She was sweet beyond measure and all that knew her were drawn to her kindness.

Glennis was a devoted animal lover, particularly cats. Don and Glennis owned a cat named Sid (Vicious) he was their fur baby and ruled their house for years.

Above all, Glennis was passionate about her children and grandchildren. They meant the world to her, and she always made it a point to show them how much she loved them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Susan Cargile and bother in law, Gary Cargile.

She is survived by her two children, Cari Shaw (Eric) of Pensacola, FL and Scott Meigs (Lanie) of Jacksonville, FL; one stepdaughter, Dana Galloway (Judy) of Iberia, LA; three grandchildren, Austin Shaw (Tony) of Orlando, FL, Lindsey Torgersen (Reid) of Pensacola, FL and Morgan Meigs of Jacksonville, FL; great grand daughter, Virginia Glenn Torgersen; and niece, Amanda Gallagher (Jason) of Chandler AZ; along with many friends and family that will sadly miss her beautiful blue eyes and her sweet smiling face.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the VITAS staff, nurses and caregivers that were at her side through the end, as well as the compassionate staff at the Arbors in Gulf Breeze, FL.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Mashburn serving as officiant.

A committal service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glennis’ memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Pensacola Humane Society
